Black Veil Brides Biography
Formed in Cincinnati, Black Veil Brides is a rock and glam metal band founded in 2006, the band includes Andy Biersack, Jinxx, Jake Pitts, Christian "CC" Coma, and Lonny Eagleton. The band is known for revolutionizing and bringing modernity to the glam genre. Inspired by bands like KISS, the band moved to LA in 2009 and debuted with the album "We Stitch These Wounds" in 2010, selling over 10k copies in only its first week. The band gained a lot of attention for their "DIY" approach and for getting super trendy on the internet, mainly because of the band's vocalist, Andy Biersack.
Their second album, named "Set the World on Fire," came out in 2011 and it was a major success. Songs like "Fallen Angels," from the 2011 album, have over 44 million streams on the digital platform Spotify. Around that same time, Andy broke his nose during a performance, causing some tour cancellations, but they resumed with the Buried Alive Tour. One year later, in 2012, Black Veil Brides released "Unbroken" on "The Avengers" soundtrack, and the rock band started to work on their third album. Released in early 2013, "Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones," brought more popularity for the band.
Black Veil Brides created a film, "Legion of the Black," to accompany the album's concept. The album reached number 7 on the Billboard Top 200, and led the rock band to tour with "The Church of the Wild Ones" and released an Ultimate Edition with extra tracks and a DVD. The band's fourth album (self-titled) was released in 2014. Around that same time, the band toured with Falling in Reverse and some other metal bands.
By 2018, the album "Vale," came out, one year later bassist Ashley Purdy left, and Lonny Eagleton joined as the new bassist. In 2022, they released a music video for "Born Again" and announced a new EP, "The Mourning," which came out on October 21, 2022, featuring the single "Saviour II."
