Lee Brice Biography
Kenneth Mobley Brice Jr., better known by his stage name Lee Brice, is an American country singer and songwriter. He was born on June 10, 1979 in Sumter, South Carolina. Brice grew up in the South and learnt to play the piano and the guitar early on. He also started writing his own songs and frequently competing in talent shows as a teenager. His younger brother, Lewis, was big into country music as well, and even competed on Season 1 of the show “Can You Duet” on Country Music Television in 2008.
As for Lee Brice, he got his first gigs in the industry as a songwriter around 2007, having written for such major artists as Jason Aldean, Keith Gattis, Cowboy Crush, and Garth Brooks. He co-wrote the 2007 hit single by Brooks, “More Than Memory”. In late 2007, Brice got signed by the label Curb Records and released his debut single “She Ain't Right”.
He produced a full album that he never released before putting out his actual debut album, “Love Like Crazy”, in June 2010. The record peaked at the #9 spot on Billboard’s Top Country Music Albums chart, while also reaching the #44 spot on the overall Billboard 200 chart. He started doing live Lee Brice concert shows in major venues in 2007. By 2011, his touring schedule really got filled up, doing over 100 live shows 5 years in a row between 2011 and 2016.
Overall, Brice has released 4 studio albums in total during his career. The best selling one among them is “Hard 2 Love” from April 2012, which sold 470,000 copies in the US alone. Meanwhile, the latest new Lee Brice album came out in November 2020, with the title “Hey World”. His biggest hits to date are “Rumor” (2017), “Hard to Love” (2012), and “One of Them Girls” (2020).
