Pablo Alborán Biography
Pablo Alborán is a Spanish musical juggernaut that has been stealing souls since his first touch of the piano as a young boy. You might say it was in his stars, for at the tender age of 12 years, he began writing songs, among them "Amor de Barrio", which later became part of his career launching material.
That's something like this: an untypical-looking, pale-skinned teenager in Málaga, performing with a flamenco band and earning the nickname "El Blanco Moreno." That same kid would go from posting covers on YouTube—everything from catching Kelly Rowland's attention!—to one of Spain's most celebrated artists.
His breakthrough finally came in 2011. "Solamente Tú" not only reached the top of the charts but also made him the first solo artist in more than a decade to make it to number one with a debut album in Spain. What an entrance! And he was just getting started. Every subsequent album—"Tanto", "Terral", "Prometo", "Vértigo", and "La Cuarta Hoja"—was another canvas of his artistry.
Behind the scenes, Alborán is a musical Swiss Army knife: piano, classical guitar, flamenco guitar—he can do it all. He parlayed that versatility into a dozen LOS40 Music Awards and a mountain of Grammy nominations. Not bad for someone who got his start recording Diana Navarro covers in a local studio!
He has sold out concerts throughout Spain and Latin America and continued to have hit after hit. Pablo Alborán has proven that with raw talent and hard work, anything can be achieved. With all the accolades racked up, including the highly regarded Goya Award for Best Original Song, he has remained true to the passionate musicianship that got him started.
