Picture This Biography
Picture This is an Irish pop rock band. They were formed in 2015 in Athy, Ireland. The founding and only members to ever be part of the band are vocalist Ryan Hennessy, guitarist Owen Cardiff, bassist Cliff Deane, and drummer Jimmy Rainsford.
In October 2015, Hennessy, aged 21 at the time, recorded an original demo song titled “Take My Hand” on his iPhone. He later re-recorded it in a professional studio, with the help of Rainsford, he previously had toured with Irish pop-rock singer Ryan Sheridan. The song ended up going viral, amassing over 4 million views combined on Facebook and YouTube. As a result, the new band got to play their very first live Picture This concert later that year. They even had to move to a bigger venue due to popular demand, eventually performing to a sold-out crowd of almost 1,000 people at The Academy music venue in Dublin, Ireland. They got to go on their first nationwide Picture This concert tour in the spring of 2016 as well.
Their debut album, the self-titled “Picture This”, came out in August 2017, through the major American label Republic Records. It ended up topping the IRMA charts in Ireland upon its release.
Since then, the Irish pop band has put out 3 more full studio albums. The third one, “Life in Colour” from June 2021 not only peaked at #2 on the Irish charts, but also reached #51 on the OCC Chart in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the latest new Picture This album came out in September 2023, with the title “Parked Car Conversations”.
The biggest hits in the Picture This setlist to date are the aforementioned “Take My Hand” (2015), “You & I” (2016), “Never Change” (2017), and “Addicted to You” (also 2017).
