Belanova Biography

Formed in the early 2000s in Guadalajara, Mexico, Belanova is a pop band very famous for their unique style of music, mixing dance and other elements. Their debut album, "Cocktail," came out in 2003. The first single, "Tus Ojos," gained fame after being featured in a Mitsubishi ad campaign. It topped the Mexican Top 100 for three weeks straight. The album itself reached number five on the Mexican Albums Chart and went gold.

The group had Denisse Guerrero (lead vocals), Edgar Huerta (keyboards, programming), and Ricardo "Richie" Arreola (bass, guitar) as its main members. While they were the core, other musicians, like Israel "Campanita" Ulloa (drums) and Richo Acosta (guitar), joined them for live performances. They were signed to Virus Records, part of Universal Music, in 2002.

All three band members had a love for music since they were kids. Richie, who is from Guadalajara, became interested in music because he admired Paul McCartney from The Beatles when he was young.

In February 2012, during a fashion event, Denisse Guerrero, the group's lead singer, said Belanova had started working on a new album. They focused on dance music, working with other musicians like Jay de la Cueva. The album, called "Canciones para la luna," was released digitally for free in Mexico in 2013.
