Biga Ranx Biography
Biga Ranx is a French Ragga hip hop artist from Tours, whose influences are from Ragga legends like Super Cat and Vybz Kartel, as well as American rap. He formed the Bandalero Sound System with DJ Atili in 2004. He got his nickname "Ranx" from a singjay from Jamaica, Joseph Cotton, in 2008. He was picked up by the French record label X-Ray Production and released his debut album, "On Time", in October 2011, which was ranked the best Ragga Dancehall album in France by Reggae.fr.
In 2012, he released "The World of Biga Ranx," a quartet of 12-inch records made by four different producers. That year, he went to Jamaica and made a documentary for France Ô, meeting his idols along the way.
In 2014, he contributed a track for "Multi Viral," an album by Calle 13. He has performed at many of Europe's biggest Reggae festivals, like SummerJam and Reggae Sun Ska, and has toured France many times.
