Óscar Armando Díaz De León Huez, better known by his stage name Carín León, is a Mexican singer and songwriter. He was born on July 26, 1989 in Hermosillo, Mexico. León started playing the guitar while he was in high school. In his mid-20's, he joined the band "Los Reales". In 2010, he, along with four other musicians, founded the Regional Mexican music group "Grupo Arranke".
He released 6 studio albums with the band between 2015 and 2019. They played songs in the Mexican musical subgenres of norteña, ranchera, corrido, banda and Sierra music. León was the lead singer of the group, and also played two traditional Latin instruments, the bajo sexto, and the bajo quinto for them as well. In May 2018, a recording of a Carín León concert with his band at the Hermosillo Festival went viral on the internet, racking up 10 million views within a week.
The next year, León decided to leave the band to focus on his solo career, which ultimately led to Grupo Arranke’s dismantlement. He signed a deal with the American record label Tamarindo Rekords, specializing in Mexican Regional music. In August 2019, León released his first solo album, “El Malo”. The standout track on the record was “Me La Avente”, which reached the #16 spot on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart in the US. Meanwhile, the latest new Carín León album came out in May 2021, with the title “Inédito”. Outperforming his solo debut, 7 songs off of this album got into the Hot Latin chart, one of them even making the top 10.
The biggest hits in the Carín León setlist to date are the aforementioned “Me La Avente” (2019), “Quisiera Saber” (also 2019), “Tú” (2020), and “Si Tu Amor No Vuelve” (also 2020). You can check when the next Carín León concert is playing near you on our page above.
