Creepy Nuts Biography
Super viral across social media platforms like TikTok, Creepy Nuts is a hip-hop/electronic duo formed in Tokyo, Japan, consisting of the rapper R-Shitei (R-指定), and DJ Matsunaga (DJ松永). The duo caught the public's attention by mixing humor with serious observations in their songs, creating a special kind and very unique style of hip-hop that connects with listeners, bringing together comedy rap, socially aware hip-hop, and storytelling.
Their song "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born," which came out in January 2024, was the opening theme for the second season of the anime series Mashle: Magic and Muscles. It stayed at the top of the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for eight weeks straight, marking the duo's first number-one single on the chart as the main artist. It also gained global success, reaching number eight on the Billboard Global 200.
But the duo has been creating some unique songs before "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born," "Lazy Boy," "友人A," and "堕天(DATEN)," are some examples.
The duo dropped their first single, "Roppongi Eisa," in 2010. Later, in 2011, they released their debut album, "Creepy Nuts," fast forward to 2013, and their second album, "JUICY Vol.1," hit #3 on the Oricon charts.
