Growing up on a diet of film scores and Russian rockabilly, he played guitar and drums in indie bands before teaching himself piano in 2007. Later, the video of Evgeny Grinko playing piano in a field at sunset became more than just a viral moment, and suddenly, the former rocker found himself with millions of streams and an exploding fan base, particularly in Turkey.
His 2011 release "Winter Sunshine" showed he was no one-hit wonder. Tracks like "Other Child Room" and "It Smells Like Chamomile Tea" proved he could tell stories without words, painting pictures with simple notes. By 2013, he was diving deep into literary inspiration with "Ice For Aureliano Buendia," named after a character from One Hundred Years of Solitude - because sometimes the best musical stories come from other stories.
