Francesco Servidei, better known by his stage name Frah Quintale, is an Italian rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born on December 27, 1989 in Brescia, Italy. Quintale’s earliest major experience with music was when he had to compose a song with classmates for a school project in elementary school. He then emerged himself in the local hip hop culture, writing rap lyrics and creating graffiti street art on abandoned buildings. At age 15, he formed the hip hop duo “Fratelli Quintale”, meaning “Quintale Brothers” in English. However, while he does have two brothers, the other rapper in the group, Mr. Merio, wasn’t his actual sibling.
The couple signed a deal with the Italian label Carosello Records and put out five 4 albums together between 2011 and 2015 before Frah Quintale decided to leave and focus exclusively on his solo career. Even while still part of the duo, Quintale put out his first EP (Extended Play) as a lone musician in 2012, with the title “Idiot Savant”.
His debut solo album came out in November 2017, titled “Regardez Moi”. It became a moderate success, peaking at the #54 spot on the Italian FIMI Albums chart. He spent the next year on a nationwide Frah Quintale concert tour in Italy, promoting hs new project. His second album, “Banzai (lato blu)” from June 2020, performed a lot better and reached the #6 spot on the same chart. Meanwhile, the latest new Frah Quintale album, titled “Banzai (lato arancio)” from June 2021, peaked at #12.
The biggest hits in the Frah Quintale setlist to date are “Si, Ah” (2017), “Cratere” (2017), “Gli occhi” (also 2017), and “Missili” (2018) featuring Giorgio Poi. He was also featured, along with Marco Mengoni, on the 2021 hit song by Takagi & Ketram, “Venere e Marte”, and on the 2018 hit by fellow Italian rapper Gué, "2%". His live shows continue to be popular in Italy: recently, one Frah Quintale concert each was featured at the No Sound Fest at the Peace Park in Servigliano, Italy, and at the Campobasso Summer in Campobasso, Italy on back-to-back days.
