Hakan Altun Concerts Setlist

Hakan Altun is a Turkish singer and songwriter. He was born on August 13, 1972 in Istanbul, Turkey. Altun is the son of former professional soccer player Hasan Altun. However, the young Hakan did not go for sports glory like his father did: rather, he was serious about music from early on. He completed his secondary education at a conservatory, and got his BA degree in musicology as well. He was studying traditional Turkish music, while also performing the earliest versions of a Hakan Altun concert as a lute player. He then had to complete his mandatory military service, during which he composed his first original song.

After he was discharged, he formed the Turkish pop group “Aykut Hakan Ayşe”, with Aykut Ekşinozlugil and Ayşe Dinçer. With them, he released two studio albums, one in 1995 and one in 1997. Altun went on to release his self-titled debut solo album, “Hakan” in December 1998, through the label Bay Müzik. "Hani Bekleyecektin" (meaning “Hani Waiting” in English) was the lead track on the record.

Since then, the prolific Altun has released 13 more solo studio albums, thus he has 14 in total. The best selling one among them so far has been “Hediye” from December 2004, which sold around 106,000 copies. Meanwhile, the latest new Hakan Altun album came out in May 2022, with the title “Çok Ağlarız”.

Hakan Altun’s biggest hits to date are “Bir Telefon” (2003), “Aşk Bahçemsin” (2015), “Duyanlara Duymayanlara” (2018), and “Kavuşmalıyız” (2019) featuring Derya Bedavacı. In 2008, all Hakan Altun concert shorts had to be halted due to a minor brain surgery on the famous Turkish artist. Thankfully, he has recovered since. In 2021, he also started to co-host the television program “Şarkılar Bizi Söyler” on Kanal D with Turkish singer-actress Sibel Can and virtuoso clarinet player Hüsnü Şençiler.
