Lasso Biography
Andrés Vicente de Jesús Lazo Uslar, also known by his stage name, Lasso, is a singer and composer from Venezuela. Lasso embarked on his career in 2009, he started by working with producer Francisco Díaz and released his debut album. The album had 12 songs and had the participation of other people from Los Angeles, USA. A very interesting fact is that Lasso's artistic name was inspired by a Phoenix song that he enjoyed.
Lasso started with the pop-rock genre, featuring some of his reggae and flamenco influences. After a few months away from Venezuela, Lasso returned in 2011 with his single "No Pares de Bailar." By 2015, Lasso decided to move to Mexico's capital, Mexico City, to reach a broader audience and expand his music career. By that time, Lasso released "El Exilio Voluntario de una Mente Saturada."
Lasso's first single, called "No Pares de Bailar," reached the top spot on HTV, and his album "Sin Otro Sentido" was a top seller at Venezuelan music stores like Recordland for several weeks. With a very successful journey so far, in 2023, Lasso, along with the Venezuelan group LAGOS, received the award for Best Pop/Rock Song at the 23rd Latin Grammys.
