MIKA Biography
Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr., also known by his stage name, MIKA, was born in Beirut but was raised in Paris and later in London. MIKA is known for his unique and special contributions to the music scene and singles like "Grace Kelly." MIKA also served as a judge on "The Voice" in France and "X Factor" in Italy. But his success spans not only music, but also other projects, the singer has ventured into design, creating products for brands like Lozza, JBC, Pilot, and Swatch.
At an early age, MIKA got interested in music and began his musical journey, learning piano and writing his first song at age 7. With difficulties in his childhood, MIKA and his family fled Lebanon for Paris when he was a year old due to the war. In London, he performed with the Royal Opera and sang jingles for companies like Orbit and British Airways, and his first single "Relax, Take It Easy" came out in 2006.
By 2007, MIKA released "Grace Kelly," and later his debut album, "Life in Cartoon Motion," which also hit number one in several countries, selling over 8.3 million copies. In 2008, he opened the Brit Awards and won Best British Breakthrough Artist. One year later, MIKA's second album, "The Boy Who Knew Too Much," came out later that year. Before the release of his third album, MIKA worked on projects with some other heavy-weight artists like Pharrell Williams and Benny Benassi.
Fast forward to 2019, after working on many other projects for his public in France and in Europe, MIKA started to work on his new album, "My Name Is Michael Holbrook," and also performed at Andrea Bocelli's concert. Later, his European tour, named Revelation Tour, started in the city of London, stopping at many cities across Europe.
