Puscifer Biography

Formed in the city of fallen angelsLos Angeles, USAPuscifer is a rock band founded by Maynard James Keenan, also known as the lead singer of the bands Tool and A Perfect Circle. Later on, Mat Mitchell and Carina Round, who often worked together, joined the group as permanent members. Originally named Umlaut, the band was described as a "premiere improvisational hardcore band." The name "Puscifer" was introduced as a fictional band in the first episode of Mr. Show, featuring Keenan and Adam Jones as members.

In 2007, Keenan announced a mid-October release for the album. By August, mixing was completed by Keenan and Alan Moulder. The album, titled "V Is for Vagina," was released on October 30, debuting at number 25 on the Billboard 200.

The first single, "Queen B.," was announced one year later, in 2008, followed by its video release in late September. Later that year, the official music video for "Momma Sed" was released online, alongside a dub remix album by Lustmord, titled "D Is for Dubby – The Lustmord Dub Mixes."

In 2009, Keenan debuted Puscifer with shows in Las Vegas. Throughout the year, he continued performing with different lineups, mostly in the Southwest. However, later that year, during an interview, Keenan announced plans to expand their shows beyond the Southwest. He stated they were eager to share their music with more people, suggesting fans come prepared for anything.

In 2011, Puscifer toured across a wider area of the United States to support Conditions of My Parole. Then, in 2013, Puscifer ventured outside North America for the first time, playing shows in Australia and performing at Lollapalooza Brazil and Lollapalooza Chile.

In 2020, Puscifer hosted a special streaming event featuring a pre-recorded concert film. The film showcased the band performing their latest album, "Existential Reckoning," live at Arcosanti, Arizona.
