Sam Fender Concerts Setlist

Sam Fender is an English indie rock singer and songwriter. He was born on April 25th 1994 in North Shields, United Kingdom. Both his father and his older brother played music in local venues. His late adolescence was filled with family troubles: his mother left the family, while his stepmother forced him out of the house at age 17. However, this led to him reuniting with his mother.

As a child, Fender was fascinated by the guitar, which he started playing at age 8. His early idols were Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and Slash. At age 12, he teamed up with his friend Dean Thompson and started performing on the street and in small venues. That is when he decided he wanted to become a professional musician, and later started writing songs of his own as well.

Fender was discovered at age 18, while performing one of his early Sam Fender concert shows in a small tavern, by music manager Owain Davies. However, he soon had to take a 2-year hiatus from his career due to a health crisis. Because of this, he had to release his debut single “Play God” independently in March 2017. It ended up charting at #89 on the British OCC singles chart. The next year, in 2018, he also started his modelling career. 

In September 2019, he put out his debut album “Hypersonic Missiles,” under the label Polydor. It became a massive hit, topping the OCC chart. The biggest hit of the record was the titular single “Hypersonic Missiles”.

Since then, Fender has released two more full-length studio albums, thus he has three in total. The best selling one of them is his debut album, “Hypersonic Missiles" from 2019, which sold 300,000 copies in his home country of the UK alone. Meanwhile, the latest new Sam Fender album is “People Watching,” which came out in February 2025.
