Born in Rome, Italy, Niccolò Moriconi, also known by his stage name, Ultimo, is a singer known for winning the 2018 edition of the Sanremo Music Festival. Ultimo started piano lessons at eight and writing songs at fourteen. He performed in hip-hop and rap clubs around Rome with artists like Tommaso Paradiso and Motta.
Even though Ultimo failed to enter the talent shows Amici and X Factor, he eventually won the hip-hop competition "One Shot Game," in 2016. From that time on, Ultimo started producing his music. In 2017, he released his first single, "Chiave," followed by "Ovunque tu sia" and "Sabbia." In that same year, something big happened, he opened for Fabrizio Moro in Rome.
Ultimo's first album, "Pianeti," was also released in 2017, making the year of 2017 a very special year for Ultimo. The album debuted at No. 47 and later peaked at No. 5. In 2019, it was certified 2× Platinum for selling over 100k copies. He also released the single "Stasera."
On December 2017, Ultimo joined the music festival Sanremo, in the "new proposal" category with his song "Il ballo delle incertezze." He won the contest and brought home the Premio Lunezia, that same day he won the contest, Ultimo released his second album, "Peter Pan."
In 2020, Ultimo left the label he was working with to start his own label, named after him, Ultimo Records.
The success of the hip-hop artist kept running (and still is). In 2022, Ultimo spent the most weeks (149) on the chart in 2021, with four albums in the annual chart: "Solo," "Colpa delle favole," "Peter Pan," and "Pianeti."
