Geizon Carlos da Cruz Fernandes, better known by his stage name Xamã, is a Brazilian rapper and actor. He was born on October 30th, 1989, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His rap career started as a teenager: he would participate in rap battles in local hip hop clubs while working as a peanut vendor, and later studying law in college.

However, he never finished his law degree, focusing on his music career instead. His debut album, titled “Pecado Capital,” came out in May 2018 through the Brazilian record label Bagua Records. The track “Luxúria” off of that record became the first national hit for Xamã, garnering 112 million views on YouTube since its release. He followed up with his next album “O Iluminado” in December 2019.

Also in 2019, Xamã branched out into acting as well, landing a role on the TV drama series “Amor de Mãe”. He has also appeared in 2 feature films, “O Maníaco do Parque” in 2024 and “Cinco Tipos de Medo” in 2025.

The Brazilian hip hop star has released 2 more full-length studio albums since, thus he has 4 in total. The most successful one among them is his latest one, “Fragmentado” from May 2025, which has surpassed 80 million streams across multiple digital platforms in less than 3 months.
