Held in Busdorf, Germany, Baltic Open Air, or BOA, is a major gig in Europe that features music genres like heavy metal, folk, and rock. The festival began in 2011 in Königswiesen and moved to "Auf der Freiheit" in Schleswig until 2016. Due to space issues, it relocated to Busdorf and Selk in 2017. In 2022, it attracted about 12k visitors, with a future capacity limit of 15k per day. BOA's main stage featured heavy metal giants like Saxon, and a smaller stage for emerging bands and DJs.
Take note that camping is available nearby, with different rates for early and regular arrivals, and no extra fee for caravans from 2023. So if you are into camping, make sure to stay updated about BOA's camping policy.
Over the years, from folk to heavy metal bands, Baltic Open Air featured major artists and bands like Guano Apes, Saltatio Mortis, and Clawfinger in the 2024 edition, HammerFall in 2022, and Dorfrocker and Frei.Wild in 2017.
