Angèle is a Belgian singer and songwriter born in Uccle, Brussels. Her father is a singer known as Marka, and her mother is an actress known as Laurence Bibot. Her brother is a rapper known as Roméo Elvis. She attended the Jazz Studio Antwerp and performed with her father's band and busked on the streets of Brussels for her first performances.
Her first single "La Loi de Murphy" was released in late 2017 and achieved millions of views on YouTube. Her first album "Brol" was released in October 2018 and her duet with her brother "Tout oublier" spent nine weeks at number 1 on the charts in Belgium, beating the record previously held by Stromae.
"Balance ton quoi," her song released in 2019, became an anthem for the French version of the #MeToo movement and an ambassador for the French fashion house Chanel. She collaborated with the English singer Dua Lipa on "Fever" in 2020 and debuted in the movie "Annette" by Leos Carax in 2021.
She released her second album "Nonante-Cinq" on her 26th birthday in 2021. "Nightcall," was performed at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony in 2024 and broke two Shazam world records in a single day.
