Artbat is a Ukrainian electronic music duo formed in 2014 when DJs Artur Kryvenko and Vitaliy Limarenko met in a club and discovered their musical compatibility. Their track "Mandrake" caught techno legend Richie Hawtin's ear early on, but it was "Taboo" that really sent them into the stratosphere, dominating Beatport's deep house charts for eleven straight weeks in 2018. By 2019, they weren't just climbing charts - they were owning them, becoming Beatport's top-selling artists and snagging a DJ Award for Breakthrough Artist.
Then they really turned heads with their Cercle performance on Rio's Sugarloaf Mountain, a set that's racked up over 32 million YouTube views and became instant electronic music legend. They've collaborated with everyone in the EDM universe and outside, from OGs like David Guetta and Pete Tong to rock bands like The Chemical Brothers. The duo is also known for performing at major gigs worldwide and maintains a significant streaming presence, becoming a force in melodic house and techno, hosting events with heavy hitters like CamelPhat and Vintage Culture.
In 2024, they released an official remix of The Chemical Brothers' classic "Hey Boy Hey Girl" for its 25th anniversary. Later, the duo once again made history by bringing electronic music to Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, packing 10k fans into a venue better known for Ronaldo's goals than dance floor beats.
From Tomorrowland to Coachella, Netflix syncs to advertising campaigns, Artbat shows how far two guys with shared musical vision can go.
