Fatal Bazooka Biography
Fatal Bazooka is a French comedy rap act created by Michaël Youn, along with Vincent Desagnat and Benjamin Morgaine. It originated from a TV show the trio hosted in 2002. The fictitious singer of the group, also called Fatal Bazooka, is played by Youn himself.
Their first single "Fous ta cagoule" topped the French charts in January 2006, transplanting urban rap style to the snowy mountains of Savoy. Their second single "Mauvaise foi nocturne" in 2007 was a scene-by-scene parody of a song by Diam's and Vitaa, with Pascal Obispo also featuring.
Later singles parodied ragga artists like Sean Paul and the bravado of American rap culture. Their song "Parle à ma main" featured Yelle, with Youn appearing in drag as Fatal's sister Christelle Bazooka. In 2008 they won NRJ Music Awards for French Group and Clip of the Year, and were nominated at the Victoires de la Musique for Urban Album and Video Clip of the Year.
