From the beautiful city of Medellín, Colombia, Salomón Villada Hoyos, also known by his stage name, Feid, or Ferxxo, as his fans call him, is a singer born in 1992. Influenced by hip-hop and R&B artists like Drake and Chris Brown, he found success in reggaeton due to its popularity with younger audiences. Feid has collaborated with huge names from the reggaeton community like J Balvin, Sebastián Yatra, and helped write J Balvin's hit song "Ginza."
Feid was raised in an artistic environment, his parents are Berta Lucía Hoyos, a preschool teacher and psychologist, and Jorge Mario Villada, professor of art history at the University of Antioquia. Feid attended Music Extension Courses at the same university as hid dad, and learned to play the clarinet in his childhood but later switched to singing and focused on reggaeton music.
During his college years, Feid made the important decision to pursue a career in reggaeton, starting in 2008 when he began writing songs. At that time he collaborated with local producers from Medellin, working behind the scenes with artists such as Nicky Jam, and Wolfine.
In 2015, he released his debut solo album "Asi Como Suena," which gained traction in his native Colombia. Fellow Colombian artist J Balvin played a significant role in mentoring Feid and provided support by collaborating on his single "Que Raro."
In 2016, which marked Feid's first international success. The music video for the song features Balvin inviting Feid onstage during a live concert in their hometown of Medellin, showcasing their close bond and mutual respect.
Recently, Feid dropped his second studio album titled "19," featuring hit singles like "Buena Mala" and "Bad Wine." The album also included a remix of his 2018 track "Sigueme," now featuring Panama's rising star Sech. Their collaboration garnered over 111 million views on YouTube, establishing them as the fresh faces of romantic reggaeton.
