Matchbox Twenty Concerts Setlist

Formed in 95 in Orlando, USA, Matchbox Twenty is a band famous for releasing albums like "Yourself or Someone Like You," achieving multi-platinum status in the U.S. The band went through a hiatus in 2004 and one line-up change, but quickly reunited in 2007 releasing one more album. The band returned with a tour and some great singles. As of 2024, their latest album is called "Where the Light Goes," which was released in 2023.

The band was formed by Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, and Paul Doucette. The trio left the group Tabitha's Secret to form Matchbox Twenty, together with Adam Gaynor and Kyle Cook. Matchbox Twenty's debut album came out in 96, one year after their formation, and had some hits like "3 A.M." The album did pretty well in the U.S., and sold over 12 million copies.

A few years later, the band released their third album, "More Than You Think You Are," by that time, the group decided to switch their genres a little bit, going for a pop-punk style. Even though the album was not a huge success as their debut album was, the album had some good radio play and it musically speaking, was going in the direction the band members wanted the band to go.

Before going on hiatus, Rob Thomas released a solo album, "…Something to Be," which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. 3 years after their hiatus, in 2007, the band reunited again, and by 2008, they were back on the road, touring from the U.S., all the way to Australia, and other countries. Rob Thomas worked on his second solo album, "Cradlesong," while the band planned to tour again in 2010.

During a concert in 2010, the band announced they would start working on their new album. Two years later, the band's fourth album, "North," came out and was a huge success, which led the band to tour around the globe. By 2022, the same thing happened, the band hinted a new album, which eventually came out one year later, in 2023, named "Where the Light Goes."

An interesting fact is that the band's name was created inspired by words on a shirt and signed with Atlantic Records.
