Mudvayne Concerts Setlist

Mudvayne is an American heavy metal band. They were formed in Peoria, Illinois in 1996. The founding members were guitarist and backing vocalist Greg Tribbett (born in 1968 in Peoria, Illinois), drummer and keyboardist Matthew McDonough (1969, Rockford, Illinois), lead vocalist Chad Gray (1971, Latham, Illinois), and bassist Shawn Barclay.

Gray was the last to join the original line-up after he finally decided to leave his dayjob at a factory where he was making $40,000 a year to give his music career a try. The band’s name, “Mudvayne”, is a rarely used slang term for anus. They self-financed the production of their first EP “Kill, I Oughta”. They also started to wear their signature face and body paints for their live Mudvayne concert shows. Within a year, bassist Barclay was replaced by Ryan Martinie.

Early on, they started getting popular in the underground music scene in Illinois. Their first album came out in August 2000, with the title “L.D. 50”. It became quite a hit, topping Billboard’s new artists-specific Heatseekers chart. Meanwhile, it also got on the famous overall Billboard 200 chart, reaching the #85 spot. The standout track on the record was “Dig”, which ended up winning the MTV2 Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2001.

Since then, the Illinois-native metalheads have put out 4 more studio albums, thus they have 5 in total. The best selling one among them is “The End of All Things to Come” from November 2002, which sold around 500,000 copies worldwide. Meanwhile, the latest new Mudvayne album came out all the way back in December 2009, with the title “Mudvayne”.

The reason for the long break in the discography is that the band announced their break-up in 2010. Gray and Tribbett had already been touring with the metal ensemble “Hellyeah”, and the other members were also ready to move on to other projects. However, in April 2021, Mudvayne surprised their fans with an announcement of reunion, after over a decade of hiatus. They also revealed a number of new Mudvayne concert dates at various music festivals.

The biggest hits in the Mudvayne setlist to date are the aforementioned “Dig” (2000), “Not Falling” (2002), “Happy?” (2005), and “Forget to Remember” (2005).
