Known for their masks and mysterious identities, Sleep Token is an alternative/progressive metal band from London, UK. What set the band apart from other metal bands is their dark and innovative aura, which made the band gain a huge and very loyal fanbase. After putting out their first EP "One" in 2016, the band joined Basick Records and released "Two" in the following year. Then they signed with Spinefarm Records and put out their first full album "Sundowning" in 2019.

The race for success in mainstream genres like rock is extremely hard, so bands nowadays have to be very innovative, as we've seen in the early 2000s with Slipknot, Mudvayne, and Linkin Park.

After a quick tour in the UK, Sleep Token had to cancel several shows in 2020 because of COVID-19. These included gigs like Download Festival and others. But this didn't stop the band from growing, Sleep Token revealed a headline tour in the UK in 2023, with support from Northlane. They also announced an Australian tour for April and May of the same year. Before their shows in Germany, they dropped a new single called "Chokehold" on January 5, 2023.

Sleep Token's emphasis on anonymity has drawn comparisons to practices used by bands like Ghost, Slipknot, and Gwar. Corey Taylor, Slipknot's singer, has complimented Sleep Token's image and creativity.

Nowadays, the band is renowned for tracks like "The Night Does Not Belong to God," "Calcutta," and "Jaws." Albums, like "Sundowning" and "This Place Will Become Your Tomb," also brought a huge fan base for them.
