Sleeping With Sirens Biography

Sleeping With Sirens is an American rock band. They were formed in 2009 in Orlando, Florida. The founding members were vocalist and keyboardist Kellin Quinn, vocalist Brian Calzini, lead guitarist Brandon MacMaster, bassist Paul Russell, rhythm guitarist Dave Aguliar, and drummer Alex Kaladjian.

“Sleeping With Sirens” was formed after a merger of two different bands from the Orlando area, “For All We Know” and “Paddock Park”. The original lead singer, Calzini, left soon after the formation, as the original keyboardist, Quinn, took over the lead vocalist’s role. The original bassist Russell didn’t stay for long either, he was replaced by Justin Hills. They were quickly discovered by the record label Rise Records, who specializes in metalcore bands. They signed them early on and released their debut album, “With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear”, in March 2010. The records itself was a moderate hit, peaking at #7 on the new artist-specific Heatseekers chart by Billboard. However, one of the tracks on it, “If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn”, ended up going gold years after its release, eventually selling 500,000 copies.

The first album of theirs to hit big was their third one, “Feel”, from June 2013. It peaked at the #3 on the famous Billboard 200 chart. The band even got to go on a nationwide Sleeping With Sirens concert tour as a headlining act, the “Feel This Tour”. They also performed at the Kia Main Stage at Warped Tour 2013. The record “Feel” ended up selling 180,000 copies in the US alone, making it the best selling one in Sleeping With Sirens’ discography. Meanwhile, the latest new Sleeping With Sirens album came out in October 2022, with the title “Complete Collapse” - it’s their 7th studio album.

The biggest hits in the Sleeping With Sirens setlist to date are the aforementioned “If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn” (2010), “Feel” (2013, same title as their album), “If You Can’t Hang” (2011), and “Iris” (2016, a cover of a song by Goo Goo Dolls). After many changes, their current line-up is made up of lead vocalist Kellin Quinn, bassist Justin Hills, rhythm guitarist Nick Martin, and drummer Matty Best.
