Yaşar Biography
Mehmet Yaşar Günaçgün, also known by his stage name, Yasar (Yaşar), is a pop musician from Turkey, hailing from Çukurova. From an early age, Yasar was already interested in music. While at school, he was part of the school orchestra. He then moved to Istanbul and started to perform at local bars and events. Yasar also holds a master's degree in international finance from Istanbul University.
His first album came out in 96, "Divane," which earned a gold certification, and made Yasar popular over the country. One year later, in 97, he won the Best Debut by a Male Artist at the Kral TV Video Music Awards. From 1998 to 2001, he also released "Esirinim" and "Masal." In 2003, Yasar released "Sevdiğim Şarkılar," followed by "Hatırla" in 2005.
