Alejandro Fernández Biography

Known for hit songs like "Necesito olvidarla," Alejandro Fernández is a singer from Guadalajara, Mexico. Alejandro is considered to be one of the top-selling Latin music artists and has relevant influence in genres like traditional Mexican folk music, mariachi, and pop music. Over a very successful career, Alejandro has earned two Latin Grammy Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Alejandro Fernández debuted in 76 with the album "Alejandro Fernández," the album brought the beginning of Alejandro's popularity which led to concerts in the U.S. and Mexico. By 95, Alejandro was already an international sensation and released "Que Seas Muy Feliz," featuring his first international hit, "Como Quien Pierde Una Estrella." One year later, he released "Muy Dentro de Mi Corazón," which is also considered a very important album for the Mexican pop community.

In 1997, "Me Estoy Enamorando," was released and sold over 2 million copies, followed by "Christmas in Vienna VI" with Plácido Domingo, earning critical praise. 2 years later, Alejandro decided was time to go back to his roots, focusing on ranchera music. So, he released "Mi Verdad." By 2000, "Entre Tus Brazos," was released, featuring songs in collaboration with legendary artists like Julio Iglesias. By 2003, Alejandro toured together with his father and released "Niña amada mía," followed by his participation in "Zapata: El sueño del héroe" and released "A Corazón Abierto," which went from 2004 to 2006. During that time, in 2005, Alejandro received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In 2007, "Viento A Favor," came out, featuring songs like "Amor Gitano" with Beyoncé. By that time, Alejandro was famous all over the world. His popularity led to a tour in Spain in 2008, where the pop star released the song "De Noche: Clásicos A Mi Manera." The next projects after the tour were also extremely important for his career, including a collaboration with Nelly Furtado on "Sueños."

Alejandro's "Dos Mundos: Revolucion Tour" started in 2011 and came right before a tour with Marc Anthony in "Dos Mundos, un Concierto" and a collaboration with Christina Aguilera on "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti."
