Known as "the Boss," Bruce Springsteen is a legendary rockstar, famous for a very successful career, spanning six decades with heavy contributions to the rock industry. Throughout his career, Bruce released 21 albums, many featuring the E Street Band, making him a pioneer of the heartland rock genre. His first success was with "Born to Run" in 75, many people enjoyed his music because it reflects working-class American life. Bruce sold over 140M albums and received many prizes and awards, including 20 Grammy Awards.
Bruce Springsteen was born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 49. He signed with a major record label in 72, bringing with him musicians who would form the E Street Band. Bruce's debut album, "Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.", was released in 73 and many started to compare his work with Bob Dylan. By 74, music critics declared him as the "future of rock and roll," leading to their collaboration on "Born to Run".
By 87, Bruce Springsteen released "Tunnel of Love", a reflective album about love's complexities, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. With worldwide recognition, Bruce performed a historic concert in East Germany, drawing 300k people. Many people believe Bruce's concert helped inspire opposition to the regime and contributed to the Berlin Wall's fall. In 89, Bruce decided to dissolve the E Street Band.
Inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 99, Bruce decided to reunite with the E Street Band for a successful Reunion Tour. Later in 2005, his album "Devils & Dust" once again had massive success. By 2008, Bruce actively supported Barack Obama's presidential campaign, he also won a Golden Globe for "The Wrestler" and performed at the Super Bowl XLIII halftime show in 2009.
In 2016, Bruce set a record with a four-hour concert in Philadelphia during The River Tour. The tour became one of the top-grossing tours of the year, bringing in over $260M in sales. In 2016, Bruce once again decided to be involved with politics by supporting Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. By 2021, Bruce Springsteen revived "Springsteen on Broadway" for a limited run at the St. James Theatre, in New York. On September 11, he performed "I'll See You in My Dreams" to honor 9/11 victims.
Later that year, Bruce sold his entire music catalog for $500M, which elevated him to the status of "the Boss," surpassing previous sales by Bob Dylan and Taylor Swift. In 2024, it was announced "Deliver Me from Nowhere", a film about the making of Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska".
