Cem Adrian Biography
From Edirne, Turkey, Cem Filiz, also known by his stage name, Cem Adrian, is a singer and record producer. Cem Adrian chose his stage name after Adrianople, the old name of his hometown. Cem Adrian met Fazıl Say through Demet Sağıroğlu and, at Say's invitation, enrolled in Bilkent University's Department of Performing Arts. Cem Adrian is also one of the artists who have spoken out about censorship, freedom of speech, and human rights in Turkey.
In 2003, Cem Adrian worked as a soloist and dancer for the group Mystica. Two years later, he released his first album, "Ben Bu Şarkıyı Sana Yazdım," which included songs he had recorded between 1997 and 2003 and were well-kept by the singer.
One year later, due to the success of his first album all over Turkey, Cem Adrian began working on his second self-produced album, "Aşk Bu Gece Şehri Terk Etti," featuring 13 songs he wrote himself, with guest artists Umay Umay, Denizhan, and others.
In 2008, Adrian released two albums, "Seçkiler" and "Emir," and also composed music for Abdullah Oğuz's film "Sıcak," in which he played a role as a young imam. Cem Adrian always loved everything related to art, it didn't matter if was music, acting, or whatever it was, art was his thing.
Fast forward to 2016, Cem Adrian released his album "Seçkiler 2." In that same year, he announced that his once again, new album, "Tuz Buz," would be released in September 2017, but it was actually released two months later.
In that same year, Cem Adrian joined other well-known artists from Turkey, like Manuş Baba, Ceylan Ertem, Mabel Matiz, and Derya Köroğlu for a concert titled "Bir Çocuk İçin Şarkılar (Songs for a Child)" to raise funds for a child's surgery.
