Disturbed Biography

Disturbed is an American alternative metal/hard rock band hailing from Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 1994, the band has left a big mark on the music world with their unique mix of hard-hitting guitar riffs, and intense shows. Originally called 'Brawl,' the band changed and ended up with the lineup we know today: Dan Donegan, Mike Wengren, and David Draiman as the lead singer. Their music is known for its powerful guitar-driven sound and deep lyrics, placing them in the nu-metal genre.

Disturbed rose to fame and received a lot of praise when they released their first album, "The Sickness," in 2000. The album's main single, "Down with the Sickness," became really popular, showing off their tough, aggressive style and connecting with fans all over the world. Their later albums, like "Believe," "Ten Thousand Fists," and "Indestructible," kept up their reputation as one of the top bands in alternative metal. They're known for their exciting shows and energetic performances, which have helped them become a big name in the rock music world.

Disturbed has a bunch of hit songs like "Stricken," "Stupify," "Indestructible," and "The Sound of Silence," which is a spooky cover that shows off their talent and ability to put their own spin on classic tunes. They've teamed up with artists like Myles Kennedy for versions of songs like "The Sound of Silence," and they're not afraid to mix different styles of music. This shows how they can keep things fresh and bring something new to their genre.

Disturbed's mascot, known as "The Guy," started as a simple drawing of a smiling face, which appeared on the back of their album "The Sickness." They used a digital program to distort this original drawing three times, creating the distorted image of The Guy that became the band's official mascot. Eventually, artist David Finch drew The Guy as a full figure.
