Harry Styles Biography

Harry Styles is a British singer and songwriter. He was born on February 1st, 1994 in Redditch, England. He rose to prominence in the 7th season of the UK version of X Factor, where he entered as a solo contestant. While he didn’t make it past the bootcamp part of the competition as a lone performer, he and four others were put together by judge Simon Cowell to form the new group “One Direction”. They advanced in the group category and eventually finished in 3rd place. This was back in 2010, when Styles was just 16 years old.

One Direction went on to achieve great international success in the music world. Aside from Styles, the group consisted of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. The name of the band came from Styles’s idea. The group’s debut album was released in 2012 with the title “Up All Night”. The most successful single on it was “What Makes You Beautiful”, originally released a year before the album, in September 2011. It peaked at spot #4 on the US Billboard 100 chart, and topped the British charts for weeks.

One Direction went on to release four other studio albums with considerable success between 2012 and 2015 before their breakup in March 2016. It was originally announced as an “indefinite hiatus”, but it later turned out to be a full-on dissolution of the popular British boyband.

So, Styles commenced his solo career. So far, he put out three albums of his own: the self-titled "Harry Styles" (2017) and "Fine Line" (2019), and the latest new Harry Styles album, "Harry's House" (2022). His biggest solo hit so far has been "Sign of the Times" from his first project. He also started taking on acting and modeling gigs. He appeared in the World War II movie "Dunkirk" in 2017. He remains to be ever so popular with young girls around the world, who are likely to fill any venue for a Harry Styles concert anywhere in the world.
