Sonny John Moore, known professionally as Skrillex, is an American DJ and music producer. Born on January 15, 1988, he emerged from Northeast Los Angeles and has significantly impacted the EDM and dubstep genre. Skrillex has received nine Grammy Awards, which is more than any other artist in electronic music. He's also worked with Diplo and Boys Noize to create the bands Jack Ü and Dog Blood.

Skrillex rose to fame through his groundbreaking contributions to the dubstep and electronic music scenes. His early work, including the "My Name is Skrillex" EP, marked a major moment in his career.

Among Skrillex's most famous songs are chart-topping hits like "Bangarang," "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites," and "Cinema," which have become anthems within the EDM community. On April 15, 2011, KoRn performed alongside Skrillex during his set at Coachella 2011. Then, on April 18, 2011, the video game development studio Naughty Dog, part of Sony Computer Entertainment (SCEA), unveiled a trailer for the multiplayer section of their PlayStation 3 game, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. The trailer featured the song "Kill EVERYBODY" from Skrillex's album Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.

In July 2018, Skrillex excited fans by working with Missy Elliott on a short preview called "ID," which later emerged in 2023 as "RATATA." Then, on July 28, 2018, Skrillex teamed up with Japanese musician Yoshiki for a performance at the Fuji Rock Festival in Niigata, Japan, where they played "Endless Rain" and "Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites" together.

In 2023, Skrillex shared a brief video on social media hinting at the launch of his highly anticipated next album following his 2014 release, "Recess." Shortly after, he confirmed that the first single titled "Rumble," featuring Flowdan and Fred Again, would be dropping on January 4. Shortly after this, during a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City alongside Four Tet and Fred Again, Skrillex surprised fans by dropping his third studio album, "Don't Get Too Close," just under two days after the release of "Quest For Fire." Skrillex took to Twitter to hint at two more albums slated for release in 2023: "Contra" and "Skrlx."

Skrillex's collaborative efforts with acclaimed artists such as Justin Bieber, The Doors, and A$AP Rocky have further solidified his status as a versatile and sought-after music producer.
