Born in Argentina's capital city, Buenos Aires, Martina Stoessel, also known by her stage name, Tini, is a singer and actress widely known in Argentina and overseas. Tini gained fame through the Disney Channel Latin America series Violetta. She debuted as a pop singer with her self-titled album in 2016, followed by "Quiero Volver" in 2018, both topping charts in Argentina and Europe. Transitioning to reggaeton and cumbia with Tini Tini Tini in 2020, she achieved double diamond certification in Argentina.
Tini grew up studying singing, piano, and dance. She attended two private bilingual schools there. At age 10, she appeared on the children's show Patito Feo as "Martina". Tini later recorded "Tu Resplandor", a Spanish version of Shannon Saunders' song "The Glow", which debuted at a Disney Channel event and was released on an album for the series.
Tini's father proposed a project to Disney Channel, leading her to audition for and land the lead role in the tween musical series Violetta. Tini played Violetta Castillo throughout all three seasons, singing the theme song "En Mi Mundo" which was released as a single in 2012. She won a "Female Newcomer" award at the Kids' Choice Awards Argentina in that same year and was nominated for Favorite Latin Artist at the U.S. Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
After that, Tini collaborated with Nacho on "Te Quiero Más", released in 2017 as the lead single from her second album. She made a guest appearance in the telenovela Las Estrellas later that year and was featured in the "Latin Mix" remix of MAX's "Lights Down Low".
One year later, the Argentinian superstar released "Princesa" with Karol G, her first single to top the charts in Argentina and make waves on U.S. Latin Airplay and US Latin Pop charts. That same year, she released "Consejo de Amor" with Morat as the third single. Tini joined La Voz... Argentina as a coach, becoming the youngest judge on The Voice franchise.
In early 2021, Tini signed with Sony Music Latin. "Miénteme," her collaboration with María Becerra, was released as the lead single from Tini's fourth album. Later that year, Tini collaborated with Lola Índigo and Belinda on "La Niña de la Escuela," which reached number nine in Spain. Her song "Maldita Foto" with Manuel Turizo was also a huge success. She held a record-breaking concert in October, attended by over 100k people, and released "Bar" with L-Gante in November as her album's third single.
In 2023, Tini started her next album, and one year later, she announced her fifth studio album, "Un Mechón de Pelo", which was released on 11 April. It's her first solo album, described as her most personal, exploring themes like mental health and media scrutiny. The album, blending alternative pop, pop rock, and electronica, marks a departure from her previous reggaeton style.
