Within Temptation Concerts Setlist

Hailing from The Netherlands, Within Temptation is a symphonic metal band founded in 1996. Within Temptation is well known for being one of the bands that brought symphonic metal to the spotlight and influenced many other bands that later appeared. The metal band was formed by Sharon den Adel and Robert Westerholt. "The Heart of Everything" was one of their most successful albums and topped worldwide charts. More recent projects had industrial and even some EDM influences, like "Bleed Out" from 2023, which had some djent in it as well.

After Robert Westerholt left his band called The Circle, he and Sharon den Adel decided to embark on a journey together to start Within Temptation. The band started with a more doom metal sound, and it was called The Portal. But before releasing their first demo, they decided to change the band's name to what it is today.

The band's debut album, released in 97, is called "Enter," and it was extremely successful in The Netherlands, which led Within Temptation to tour in their home country and neighboring countries like Germany and Austria, as well. One year later, the band played on the main stage at Dynamo but released no new album, opting for an EP called "The Dance" to evolve their sound.

In 2000, after a quick break from touring to focus on their personal projects, the band got back on the road and played at some major music festivals around The Netherlands. During that time, their second album, named "Mother Earth" was released.

Four years later, "The Silent Force," the band's third album came out, and it was insanely well received all around the world, considered to be one of the band's best projects ever made. The band toured all the way from London to Dubai. "The Silent Force" sold over 400k copies and has some unique singles like "Stand My Ground" and "Memories" in it.

In 2008, the band started to work on a new album after the end of the Heart Of Everything Tour. "The Unforgiving," based on a comic series, was released in 2011.

For their 15th anniversary, Within Temptation covered pop songs in their symphonic style for Q-Music's "Within Temptation Friday,"

2022 was also a big year for the symphonic metal band, with big projects and tours with bands like Evanescence (Which was originally to be held in 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic), heavy metal legendary band, Iron Maiden, and bands like Asking Alexandria.

Within Temptation is an extremely successful band and as of 2024, the band sold over 3.5 million albums worldwide.
