Brad Paisley Biography

From Glendale, USA, Bradley Douglas Paisley, also known by his stage name, Brad Paisley is a country music icon. Since his 1999 debut album "Who Needs Pictures," he has released twelve studio albums and a Christmas compilation, all certified gold or higher. He has 35 Top 10 singles on the US Billboard Country Airplay chart, with 20 reaching number one. Paisley has sold over 11 million albums and won three Grammy Awards, making him a star within the country music community.

Brad came from a simple family but with an enormous love for country music. His grandad, who gave him his first guitar and taught him to play at eight, always listened to the genre with him. At 13, he wrote his first song and formed a band, Brad Paisley and the C-Notes. He gained attention through local performances and joined Jamboree USA, opening for major country artists.

Brad debuted as a singer in 99, releasing "Who Needs Pictures." That same year, the soon-to-be-a-star achieved his first No. 1 hit with the album "He Didn't Have to Be." Brad also won the CMA's Horizon Award and ACM's Best New Male Vocalist in 2000, only one year after his debut.

Brad's third album, "Mud on the Tires" was released almost 4 years after his official debut reached No. 1 on Billboard in 2004. "Whiskey Lullaby," a duet with Alison Krauss from the same album, reached No. 3 on the Hot Country Songs chart and No. 41 on the Hot 100.

Fast forward to 2010, Brad performed "American Saturday Night" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Unfortunately, five days later, he slipped and fell during his concert in Charleston, USA, but was released from the hospital after doctors stated that there were no serious injuries. That same year, fully recovered, Brad performed with Carrie Underwood at the Greenbrier Classic PGA Tour Event, where over 60k fans braved rain to attend.

Rushing to the end of that same year, Brad announced his first greatest hits album, "Hits Alive," featuring studio hits and live versions. At the 44th CMA Awards in November, he cohosted and won Entertainer of the Year, dedicating his award to his grandfather. In 2012, MSN.com recognized "American Saturday Night" as one of the essential albums of the 21st century.

In 2018, Brad and his wife opened "The Store", a free grocery store in Nashville to aid the community. Later that year, he released "Bucked Off". In 2021, he featured on Jimmie Allen's "Freedom Was a Highway", which became his twentieth number-one single on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2022, tying him with Brooks & Dunn and Toby Keith for the tenth most number-one singles since 1990.

Throughout his extremely successful career, Brad proved to be a good writer as well, by releasing "Jug Fishing for Greazy and Other Brad Paisley Fishing Stories" in 2003 with co-author M.B. Roberts, published by Thomas Nelson Publishing.
