Eric Church Biography
Famous for his work with Capitol Nashville, Eric Church is a country music singer and songwriter. Eric debuted with "Sinners Like Me," and over his career, released major hits, including songs like "Springsteen." Throughout a very successful career, Eric has worked on projects with Keith Urban and other prominent artists.
Eric was born in Granite Falls, North Carolina, and grew up working with his dad. At the age of 13, Eric fell in love with music and started to play guitar and write songs, which led him to perform at local bars and at his school. By that time, very focused on music, Eric founded the band Mountain Boys, together with his college roommate, brother, and a guitarist. Quickly after graduating and going through some struggles, Eric moved to Nashville to pursue his music career, with his dad supporting him.
In 2005, Eric co-wrote Terri Clark's "The World Needs a Drink" and Dean Miller's "Whiskey Wings." By that time, Eric had not caught the attention of record labels, but when he collaborated with producer Jay Joyce, everything changed. His debut single, "How 'Bout You," reached No. 14, leading his album "Sinners Like Me." An interesting fact is that Eric Church humorously inspired Taylor Swift, who replaced him.
In 2008, he "His Kind of Money," followed by "Love Your Love the Most." By 2011, "Chief" was released, the album was a major success and debuted at No. 1 on both Top Country Albums and the Billboard 200. The country star then collaborated with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan on "The Only Way I Know."
In 2015, he released a surprise album, named "Mr. Misunderstood." The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the ACM Awards, which led Eric to embark on his largest solo tour. The Holdin' My Own Tour was a major success, and quickly after that, his sixth album, "Desperate Man," came out. Eric also performed solo shows during his Gather Again Tour and was announced to perform at the 2022 ACM Awards.
