David Bisbal Biography
David Bisbal is a Spanish singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born on June 5th, 1979 in Almería, Spain. His father was a professional boxer and a musician. He dropped out of high school at just age 15, and started working in a greenhouse. However, his singing talent was soon discovered by a producer, and he got a gig singing for the band "Orchestra Expressions" as a teenager.
In 2001, at age 22, he entered the Spanish reality-talent show “Operación Triunfo”, where he ended up finishing in second place. Now a national figure, Bisbal was signed by the record label Vale Music, and released his debut album, the Latin pop record “Corazón latino” in October 2002. It ended up being a massive hit: not only did it top the Top 100 Albums chart in Spain, but it also reached the #6 spot on Billboard’s Latin Albums chart in the United States. Also in 2002, he started doing major live David Bismal concert shows around Spain, then in the United States and Latin America as well.
Since then, Bismal has released 7 more studio albums, thus he has 8 in total. The best selling of them remains his debut record, “Corazón latino” from October 2002, which has sold a total of 2 million copies worldwide. Meanwhile, the latest new David Bisbal album is “Me Siento Vivo,” which came out in September 2023.
In 2011, he appeared in the fourth instalment of the classic Spanish comedy film series “Torrente”.
The biggest hits in the David Bisbal setlist to date are “Dígale” (2002), “A Partir De Hoy” (2020) featuring Sebastián Yatra, and “Me Enamoré De Ti” (2021). He was also featured on the Latin pop hit “Aqui Estoy Yo” by Luis Fonsi in 2008, along with Aleks Syntek and Noel Schajris.
