Sam Hunt Biography

Born in the small city of Cedartown, Sam Lowry Hunt, also known by his stage name, Sam Hunt, is a country pop singer. Before his successful solo career, Sam started by writing singles for country stars like Kenny Chesney, and Keith Urban. His debut album, "Montevallo," set records with five chart-topping singles, including "Leave the Night On," which topped both Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts simultaneously—a feat not achieved in 22 years in the Nielsen SoundScan era.

While young, Sam excelled in football, earning honors such as 2002 Co-Offensive Player of the Year and being selected for the Georgia Sportswriters Association All-State Class AAA first-team as an all-purpose player. He was also a nominee for the Wendy's High School Heisman.

Sam Hunt signed with a major label in 2014. His debut EP "X2C" was released on that same year, peaking at number 36 on the Billboard 200 and number five on the Top Country Albums chart. His first single, "Leave the Night On", topped the Country Airplay chart and earned Platinum certification. Sam's debut studio album, "Montevallo", came out also in that same year.

Sam Hunt took a break from social media and music after touring with Luke Bryan on the What Makes You Country Tour. At the Bud Light House Party event in Calgary, he debuted "Sinning with You", which he confirmed would be on his upcoming album. Hunt also announced that another single would follow shortly, with the full album slated for an early 2020 release.

A fun fact is that Sam also became the first male solo artist to achieve four number ones on the Country Airplay chart from a debut album with hits like "Make You Miss Me." His music blends country with R&B and pop influences, earning him accolades including an American Music Award and a CMT Music Award, alongside nominations for Billboard Music Awards and Grammy Awards.
